Interests
Over the years, I’ve spent many rewarding hours
working with non-profits, most recently focusing on projects that
will have lasting value for my community.
Jericho Underhill Land Trust
(JULT): In 1999, I headed
up the fundraising for the establishment of the Mills Riverside
Park in Jericho and Underhill VT, providing 216 acres of meadow
and forest land adjacent to our town center. Today, the park is
home to farmers’ markets, concerts and athletic events, all
graced by magnificent views of Mount Mansfield. Since that first
project, our board accomplished two additional projects, the preservation
of Wolfrun, for wildlife habitat and education, and Casey’s
Hill, Underhill’s magnificent sledding hill. This has been
extremely rewarding work, knowing that we are preserving special
land for future generations, with the generous support and volunteer
effort of hundreds of people in our community. Please see www.JULT.org.
Vermont Ballet Theater (VBT): In 2006 and 2007, I served as volunteer
Managing Director of Vermont Ballet Theater to lay the groundwork
for the establishment of a new center for dance located adjacent
to the Elley-Long Center, home of the Vermont Youth Orchestra.
Building on the vision of St. Michael’s College, which is
providing the site, VBT will be a central component of a youth
arts campus. Watch for updates at www.VermontBalletTheater.org.
